OVERVIEW :

The GWSI Powder Funnel, Stem with Cone, is precision-machined from premium Borosilicate 3.3 glass. Its wide flared cone takes a full pour without spillage, while the short, reinforced stem feeds powder cleanly into narrow-neck flasks and bottles. Built with high thermal shock resistance and hydrolytic resistance, it handles hot solutions and aggressive solvents without cracking. Pure chemical inertness means zero contamination of your sample, batch after batch.

HISTORY :

Powder funnels trace their roots to the simple glass funnels of 18th-century European laboratories, where chemists needed a clean way to charge powdered reagents into reaction vessels. The wide-angle cone and short stem design emerged to keep fine powders from bridging and jamming at the neck. It solved a real daily frustration — accurate, spill-free transfer of dry materials.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

GWSI melts high-purity Borosilicate 3.3 feedstock at controlled temperature, then shapes each funnel either by master hand-blowing into a mold or on automated forming lines for consistent geometry. A second-stage reworking brings the cone, stem, and optional interchangeable ground joint to final spec, and every piece is annealed to relieve internal thermal stress before it leaves the glass bench.

TESTING PROCESS:

Every GWSI funnel is first inspected manually for visible flaws, then passed through a polariscope stress test to confirm zero residual strain. Dimensional and thermal checks follow ISO and DIN standards — performed by hand and on high-precision automatic testing machines — with NABL gravimetric calibration applied to volumetric items for true Class A / Class B accuracy.

PRINTING PROCESS:

Markings are applied by precision silk-screening with glass enamels (ceramic inks), then baked in high-temperature kilns. The heat fuses the scale directly into the glass matrix, so graduation lines stay permanent, crisp, and fade-proof through hundreds of autoclave cycles.

PACKAGING PROCESS:

Before dispatch, each piece is cosmetic sorted to filter out any blemish or surface irregularity. Approved funnels are then packed in heavy-duty double-wall boxes with shock-absorbing bubble wrap — engineered to survive long-haul export without a scratch.

 

MAINTENANCE & SAFETY:

Clean** right after use with warm water and a mild lab detergent; rinse thoroughly to remove residue.Autoclave** safely at 121°C / 15 psi — full autoclavable lab glass, unaffected by repeated sterilization.
