OVERVIEW:
The GWSI 1 ml Class B Mohr pipette is the kit measuring pipette for 0.01 ml steps that does **not** spend the jet. Premium borosilicate 3.3 glass gives high thermal shock resistance, hydrolytic resistance, and chemical inertness in a 1 ml stem. Class B tolerance is ±0.010 ml to ISO 835 Type 1 — looser than our Class A volumetric glassware ±0.007 ml, tight enough to teach hundredths. Calibrated to deliver (TD) at 20 °C, wet tip. Yellow code, no blow-out rings. The yellow 1 ml serological is the other SOP. Interchangeable ground joints stay on flasks.
HISTORY:
School kits put a 1 ml serological in the box and students blew it empty — at 1 ml that film is the whole reading. A Class B Mohr 1 ml put hundredths on a Type 1 scale, so the jet stayed out of the lesson and the price stayed on a tender. GWSI Glass Lab still draws that kit 1 ml in Ambala as autoclavable lab glass.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
We melt high-purity borosilicate 3.3 and draw a 1 ml bore that can hold a 0.01 ml line. The lowest mark sits above the jet; yellow code goes on **without** rings. A lehr anneal then takes stress out of the thin wall before the Class B print.
TESTING PROCESS:
First inspection is manual: 0.01 ml registration, dead-leg to the jet, yellow band only, jet. A polarization stress test on the polariscope follows. Delivery is then checked to I.S.O. DIN (ISO 835 Type 1) on a manual or automatic stand — TD at 20 °C, two menisci, **wet tip**, Class B ±0.010 ml. NABL gravimetric calibration is optional; the Class A 1 ml Mohr carries the certificate when the method needs it.
PRINTING PROCESS:
The 0.01 ml Mohr scale, Class B / TD / 20 °C, yellow code, and GWSI name are precision screened with glass enamels (ceramic inks). Kiln heat drives ceramic glass fusing, so the hundredth-lines survive a kit washer and still stop above the jet.
PACKAGING PROCESS:
Cosmetic sorting rejects seeds merged 0.01 ml lines, and any double ring. Pass pipettes pack in heavy-duty double-wall boxes with shock-absorbing bubble wrap and tip guards for kit tenders and export from the Science City.
MAINTENANCE & SAFETY:
– Never mouth-pipette — use a filler even at 1 ml
– Never blow out — at 1 ml that film is the reading
– Run mark to mark; interval is 0.01 ml; work near 20 °C
– Look for yellow band and **no** double ring
– Do not mix with yellow 1 ml serological or one-mark 1 ml pipettes in the same kit cup
– Do not file Class B into a Class A set
– Wash with care; grit ends a 1 ml jet
– Autoclave this autoclavable lab glass at 121 °C if the SOP allows
– Store in a tray, tips guarded
– Cull chipped jets and worn last lines before the next kit issue
