OVERVIEW:

The GWSI 10 ml Class A Mohr pipette delivers any volume from 0.10 ml to 10 ml **between two lines**. Premium borosilicate 3.3 glass gives high thermal shock resistance, hydrolytic resistance, and chemical inertness on a 10 ml stem. The scale stops short of the jet; Class A tolerance is ±0.050 ml to ISO 835 Type 1. Calibrated to deliver (TD) at 20 °C. **No blow-out rings — do not empty the tip. ** That is the difference from our 10 ml serological. Class B glassware is the student Mohr. Interchangeable ground joints stay on flasks.

HISTORY:

A 10 ml take is the everyday analytical volume. Serological invited a blow-out; that extra film wrecked a Class A number. Mohr’s between-the-marks 10 ml left the jet out of the sum, so 7.40 ml meant 7.40 ml. ISO 835 Type 1 still describes that pipette. MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

We melt high-purity borosilicate 3.3 and draw a 10 ml stem by master hand-blowing or automated tube-draw. The last graduation is placed a set dead-volume above the jet, so the Mohr geometry is unambiguous. The tube anneals in the lehr, then the 0.10 ml scale and orange code go on — without blow-out rings.

 TESTING PROCESS:

The first check is manual: last line clear of the tip, 0.10 ml pitch, no rings, jet, and straightness. A polarization stress test on the polariscope follows. Delivery is then verified to I.S.O. DIN (ISO 835 Type 1) on a manual or automatic stand — TD at 20 °C, upper mark to lower mark, **tip left wet**, Class A ±0.050 ml. NABL gravimetric calibration is available on this Class A volumetric glassware.

PRINTING PROCESS:

The 0.10 ml Mohr scale, Class A / TD / 20 °C, orange code (no double ring), and GWSI name are precision screened with glass enamels (ceramic inks). Kiln heat drives ceramic glass fusing so the last line above the jet stays readable after detergent and steam.

PACKAGING PROCESS:

Cosmetic sorting rejects seeds, scales that run to the jet, and any accidental blow-out rings. Pass pipettes pack in heavy-duty double-wall boxes with shock-absorbing bubble wrap, length supported, tips guarded, for export from the Science City.

MAINTENANCE & SAFETY:

– Never mouth-pipette — use a filler
– Never blow out — emptying the jet over-delivers
– Run meniscus to meniscus; leave the tip wet
– Read at eye level; interval is 0.10 ml; work near 20 °C
– Look at the top: no double ring means Mohr, not serological
– Wash in a 10 ml-length pipette washer
– Autoclave this autoclavable lab glass at 121 °C only if the SOP allows; recheck Class A volume after heat
– Store full-length in a rack
– Retire any pipette with a chipped jet, a worn last line, or a bent stem
