OVERVIEW:
The GWSI Evaporating Flask is a 1000 ml round-bottom flask finished with a precision 24/29 standard ground joint — the standard size for small roto vaps and micro stills. Its compact body heats fast and evenly, so small samples evaporate quickly with near-total recovery. Forged from premium borosilicate 3.3 glass, it carries high thermal shock resistance and strong hydrolytic resistance through every hot-bath and vacuum cycle. The glass is chemically inert, fully autoclavable lab glass, and the interchangeable ground joint mates with any 24/29 socket — consistent with the quality GWSI builds into its Class A and Class B volumetric glassware.

HISTORY:
Gravimetric and microanalysis work in the early-to-mid 1900s demanded flasks small enough that a few milliliters of solvent wouldn’t simply paint the walls. The 1000 ml round-bottom flask became that tool — big enough to reflux a gram-scale reaction, small enough to recover nearly every drop. Adding the 24/29 standard ground joint made it a plug-in piece, ready to swap between condenser, rotavapor, and still without corks or clamps.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
GWSI melts high-purity borosilicate 3.3 tubing, shapes each 100 ml body by master hand-blowing or automated molding, tool-grinds the 24/29 joint and bonds it to the neck by ceramic-glass fusing, then anneals every flask to relieve all thermal stress.

TESTING PROCESS:
Every flask is hand-inspected first, then passed through a polariscope polarization stress test for zero residual stress, its 24/29 joint and body checked to ISO/DIN tolerances on manual or automatic testing machines, with NABL gravimetric calibration on volumetric items.

PRINTING PROCESS:
Markings are applied by precision screening with glass enamels and baked in high-temperature kilns to permanently fuse the scale into the glass matrix, so it never fades.

PACKAGING PROCESS:
Finished flasks go through cosmetic sorting to filter out blemishes, then ship in heavy-duty double-wall boxes with shock-absorbing bubble wrap for safe export.

MAINTENANCE & SAFETY:
– Rinse with solvent or warm detergent water right after use; a small brush clears the 1000 ml body.
– Grease the 24/29 joint lightly and vent vacuum before separating.
– Autoclave at 121 °C and cool slowly; small flasks thermal-shock easily.
– Store upright in a rack with the joint capped to protect the ground surface.
