OVERVIEW :
GWSI Glass Lab manufactures chromatography columns with both a precision sintered disc and a PTFE key from premium borosilicate 3.3 glass. Built for reliable separation workflows, they deliver high thermal shock resistance, full chemical inertness, and hydrolytic resistance. Every column is I.S.O. DIN, NABL calibrated for consistent analytical performance.
HISTORY :
Chromatography columns with sintered discs date back to early 20th-century separation science to support packed stationary phases without particle loss. The PTFE key provides smooth, corrosion-resistant flow control. GWSI modernizes this combined design with borosilicate 3.3 durability, ceramic glass fusing, interchangeable ground joints, and autoclavable lab glass reliability.
APPLICATIONS :
* Pharmaceutical purification and compound isolation
* Biotech and analytical separation laboratories
* School, college, university, and educational institutes
* Industrial quality control and research labs
* Column chromatography requiring fine flow adjustment
MANUFACTURING PROCESS :
We melt high-purity borosilicate 3.3, form the column tube through master hand-blowing or automated molding, apply ceramic glass fusing to the sintered disc and interchangeable ground joints, and complete controlled annealing to fully eliminate thermal stress.
TESTING PROCESS :
Every column receives manual polariscope stress testing for zero residual stress, followed by high-precision ISO, DIN standard verification — manual or automatic testing machine — and NABL gravimetric calibration where volumetric measurement applies.
PRINTING PROCESS :
Graduations and markings are applied by precision silkscreening with ceramic glass enamels, baked in high-temperature kilns to permanently fuse the scale into the borosilicate 3.3 matrix so it never fades.
PACKAGING PROCESS :
We perform cosmetic sorting to filter out any blemishes, confirm sintered disc integrity and PTFE key function, and pack in heavy-duty double-wall boxes with shock-absorbing bubble wrap for safe export from Ambala, the Science City.
MAINTENANCE & SAFETY :
* Autoclavable lab glass: sterilize at 121 °C with the PTFE key removed or fully open.
* Clean with non-abrasive detergents; protect the sintered disc, interchangeable ground joints, and PTFE surfaces from abrasion.
* Confirm hydrolytic resistance before prolonged use with acidic or basic mobile phases.
* Store vertically in a stable rack away from direct heat sources.
* Inspect for polarization stress before high-thermal-shock cycles.
