The GWSI Boiling Flask is a 500 ml round-bottom vessel with a wide neck — the micro flask that heats like a big one. The round bottom sits deep in the bath, so a gram-scale charge warms evenly with no hot spots, and the broad mouth lets you add boiling stones, watch the boil, and quench a bump before it climbs the neck. Premium borosilicate 3.3 glass delivers high thermal shock resistance, strong hydrolytic resistance, and total chemical inertness through flame, bath, and micro stirrer. Fully autoclavable lab glass, held to the same discipline as GWSI’s Class A and Class B volumetric glassware, with interchangeable ground joint options for sealed micro rigs.
HISTORY:
Small volumes misbehave on heat: a 500 ml charge in a big vessel spreads thin, superheats in patches, and bumps hard — throwing precious sample up the neck. The small round-bottom flask tamed it by matching the vessel to the volume, so the charge sits deep and the curved bottom sheds heat evenly across the lot. The wide neck finished the fix: room to seed the boil with a stone and a clear view of the surface, so a micro reflux runs as calm as a half liter one. MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

TESTING PROCESS:
Each flask is hand-inspected first, then run through a polariscope polarization stress test for zero residual stress, its neck, body, and base verified against ISO/DIN tolerances on manual or automatic testing machines, plus NABL gravimetric calibration on volumetric items.
PRINTING PROCESS:
Markings are applied by precision silk-screening with glass enamels (ceramic inks) and baked in high-temperature kilns to permanently fuse the scale into the glass matrix, so it never fades.
PACKAGING PROCESS:
Finished flasks pass cosmetic sorting to filter out blemishes, then ship in heavy-duty double-wall boxes with shock-absorbing bubble wrap for safe export.
MAINTENANCE & SAFETY:
– Wash with warm detergent and a soft brush; the wide neck reaches the full 100 ml body.
– Autoclave at 121 °C and cool slowly — never quench a hot flask in cold water.
