HISTORY:

MANUFACTURING PROCESS:

GWSI manufactures 25 ml ASTM Class A volumetric flasks by melting borosilicate 3.3 glass at 1,650°C and forming the flat-bottom bulb, narrow neck, and precision-bore opening through skilled hand-blowing or precision automated molding. The neck is carefully drawn to exact dimensions ensuring the calibration mark provides Class A accuracy at the 25 ml volume. The glass stopper is precision-ground to match the flask opening for reliable sealing. The entire flask undergoes controlled annealing to eliminate internal stress and ensure dimensional stability.

TESTING PROCESS:

Manual inspection verifies wall thickness uniformity, neck dimensions, stopper fit, and overall geometry on every flask. Automated polarization stress testing then scans the glass for residual strain that could affect dimensional stability. Each Class A flask undergoes NABL gravimetric calibration to verify the exact volume at the calibration mark meets ASTM Class A tolerances, with certification documentation provided for traceability and quality assurance.

 PRINTING PROCESS:

The calibration mark, volume designation, temperature specification, and Class A identification are silkscreened onto the flask using ceramic glass inks formulated for borosilicate compatibility. The flasks enter high-temperature kilns where ceramic glass fusing permanently bonds the ink into the glass matrix. This creates durable, legible markings that resist chemical attack, repeated cleaning, and autoclaving—essential for volumetric glassware used in specialized micro-volume work.

PACKAGING PROCESS:

Final sorting removes any flasks with wall defects, neck irregularities, stopper fit issues, or surface blemishes. Approved flasks are individually wrapped with the matched glass stopper secured in place to prevent separation during shipping. They’re packed in heavy-duty double-wall corrugated boxes with shock-absorbing dividers, suitable for domestic distribution or international export to research laboratories requiring specialized micro-volume precision glassware.

MAINTENANCE & SAFETY:

– Clean immediately after use with appropriate solvents or detergents; use specialized micro flask brushes for thorough interior cleaning without scratching
– Autoclave at 121°C / 15 psi with stopper removed; flasks are fully autoclavable and maintain calibration through repeated sterilization
– Handle with extreme care to avoid impacts that could affect calibration accuracy; the compact size requires very precise manipulation during filling
