HISTORY :
Recovery bends grew out of the early distillation glassware of the 18th–19th centuries, when chemists first needed a compact angled joint to drop condensed vapour neatly into a receiver. The sloping-end design made draining smoother and reduced the “wet wall” that trapped product in straight adapters.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS :
GWSI melts high-purity borosilicate 3.3 glass and forms each recovery bend by master hand blowing to keep the curve smooth and the walls even. A careful annealing pass then removes internal thermal stress, giving the bend long-lasting resistance to cracking under hot solvents.
TESTING PROCESS :
Each recovery bend is examined under a polariscope to confirm zero residual strain around the bend and joints.
PACKAGING PROCESS :
Finished bends undergo a final cosmetic sort to remove any chips, bubbles, or flaws before packing. Approved pieces ship in heavy-duty double-wall cartons with shock-absorbing bubble wrap, built to protect the angled glass through export transit.
MAINTENANCE & SAFETY :
– Clean: Rinse with acetone and mild detergent plus deionized water; never use wire brushes or abrasive pads on the ground joints.
– Autoclave safely: Steam at 121°C (15 psi) — this autoclavable lab glass handles it; cool slowly to prevent thermal shock.
– Store: Lay it padded in a compartmented tray, keeping the sloping arm and joint faces clear of contact with other glass.
