OVERVIEW :

A GWSI Adapter, Receiver, Vacuum Straight is a straight-line fitting that drops condensate into a flask while a side hose arm pulls vacuum for reduced pressure runs. It’s formed from premium borosilicate 3.3 glass, so it offers dependable chemical inertness, strong hydrolytic resistance, and high thermal shock resistance through long distillations. The straight, in-line profile takes up minimal bench space, and the barbed arm connects to standard vacuum tubing for a snug seal.

HISTORY :

Straight vacuum receivers appeared as vacuum distillation matured in the early 20th century, when chemists needed to keep heat-sensitive samples under reduced pressure from flask to flask. The straight body with a side hose arm let operators collect product along a direct axis while venting pressure in one sealed step.

APPLICATIONS :

MANUFACTURING PROCESS :

GWSI melts high-purity borosilicate 3.3 glass and shapes the straight body and vacuum arm by hand blowing for uniform walls and clean bores. A controlled annealing step releases internal stress, so the adapter stays reliable under repeated vacuum and heat.

TESTING PROCESS :

Each adapter is checked under a polariscope to confirm zero residual strain at the arm and body.

PACKAGING PROCESS :

Each receiver is cosmetically sorted to reject any clouding, cracks, or joint flaws before dispatch. Approved pieces are packed in heavy-duty double-wall cartons with shock-absorbing bubble wrap, ready for safe export.

MAINTENANCE & SAFETY

– Clean: Rinse with acetone then mild detergent and deionized water; keep the vacuum barb clear and joints free of abrasives.

– Autoclave safely: Sterilize at 121°C (15 psi) — this autoclavable lab glass handles it; cool slowly to avoid thermal shock.

– Store: Hold it padded in a rack, with the vacuum arm and joint faces protected from knocks.
