OVERVIEW:

Made from premium borosilicate 3.3 glass, it delivers high thermal shock resistance, strong hydrolytic resistance, and excellent chemical inertness. Manufactured by GWSI Glass Lab in Ambala, Haryana, India, it offers a clean, reusable, and leak-resistant connection for demanding laboratory work.

HISTORY :

Glass stopcock adapters became widely used as ground-glass joints were standardized in the early 20th century. They solved the need to control liquid or gas flow directly within glass assemblies without adding bulky external valves.

APPLICATIONS :

* Used in pharmaceutical labs for controlled reagent addition, vacuum isolation, and solvent transfer.

MANUFACTURING PROCESS :

GWSI manufactures each adapter by melting high-purity borosilicate 3.3 glass and shaping the socket body, stopcock barrel, and flow path through master hand-blowing or precision automated molding. The finished piece is annealed in a controlled furnace to relieve thermal stress and support stable performance during repeated heating and cooling.

TESTING PROCESS :

Each adapter is checked through a polarization stress test using a Polariscope to verify zero residual stress and dependable glass integrity

PACKAGING PROCESS :

Finished adapters are cosmetically sorted to remove pieces with blemishes, uneven sockets, chipped rims, or poorly seated stopcocks. Each unit is packed in heavy-duty double-wall boxes with shock-absorbing bubble wrap for safe export handling.

MAINTENANCE & SAFETY :

* Clean with neutral lab detergent, rinse well, and dry the stopcock bore before storage.

* Autoclave only with the stopcock open or loosened to prevent trapped pressure.

* Store padded and lightly separated to protect the socket, plug, barrel, and ground joint surface.
