OVERVIEW:
A GWSI Multiple Adapter with Two Parallel Necks gives you two side-by-side ground joints on a single compact body, so you can pair instruments around one opening. It’s made from premium borosilicate 3.3 glass, delivering reliable chemical inertness, strong hydrolytic resistance, and high thermal shock resistance through long reactions. Both necks are full interchangeable ground joints, so a condenser, thermometer, or addition funnel slots right in — and the whole piece autoclaves clean between uses.
HISTORY:
Two-parallel-neck adapters date to early 20th-century organic chemistry, when chemists wanted to cluster two attachments on one flask without widening the opening. The parallel layout kept instruments side by side and balanced, easing the crowding that tripped up single-neck setups.
APPLICATIONS:
– Pharmaceutical synthesis— pairing a thermometer and condenser on one reaction flask.
– Biotech / research labs — running reflux and addition together from a two-port hub.
– Industrial process labs — compact, balanced instrument mounting for repeatable reactions.
MANUFACTURING PROCESS:
GWSI melts high-purity borosilicate 3.3 glass and fuses two parallel necks onto a single body by hand blowing, keeping the joint spacing even. A controlled annealing cycle releases internal stress at both junctions, so the adapter holds up under repeated heating.
TESTING PROCESS :
Each adapter is scanned under a polariscope to confirm zero residual strain at both neck joints. A NABL laboratory verifies the joint dimensions with high-precision gravimetric methods, so each interchangeable ground joint seats true and seals leak-free.
PACKAGING PROCESS :
Each adapter is cosmetically inspected to reject any misaligned necks, bubbles, or joint flaws before dispatch. Approved pieces are packed in heavy-duty double-wall cartons with shock-absorbing bubble wrap, ready for safe export.
MAINTENANCE & SAFETY :
– Clean: Flush both necks with acetone then wash in mild detergent and deionized water; keep the joints free of abrasive scrubbers.
– Autoclave safely: Sterilize at 121°C (15 psi) — this autoclavable lab glass takes it; cool slowly to avoid thermal shock.
– Store: Keep it padded in a tray, so the parallel necks stay clear of neighboring glass.
